What does the Maricopa Board of Supervisors do?

Board of Supervisors is the City Council for a county 

Role of the Maricopa Board of Supervisors:

  • Sets the county tax rate 
  • Approves county budgets 
  • Oversees public health department, county parks, roads, parks, libraries, law enforcement, and other county services 
  • Board of Supervisors has the power to fill vacancies in the county and legislative offices 
  • Passes resolutions and enact ordinances 
  • Canvasses election returns 
  • Declares election results

What Board of Supervisory District are you in?

District 2 contains parts of Apache Junction, Carefree, Cave Creek, Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Fountain Hills, Mesa, Phoenix, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Scottsdale, and Tempe.
